Abstract: In this lecture we will present some recent and some less recent mathematical results concerning the equations of the atmosphere, the ocean and the coupled atmosphere ocean (the so called Primitive Equations first considered by Richardson).

Dr. Temam is a world class mathematician with research accomplishments in a wide range of subjects related to the theory and numerical analysis of partial differential equations. He has authored/coauthored more than ten books including several classical treatises in their respective fields, and has won numerous prestigious awards.
