Nonlinear Evolution Equations with Critical Nonlinearity-Global Dynamics and the Renormalization Group Method

Abstract:   In this talk, I shall report on some of my recent works on nonlinear parabolic equations, arising from chemical reactions, fluid mechanics and other applications, with critical nonlinearity. I shall show how to combine the classical PDE techniques with the Renormalization Group (RG) method to derive large time spatial-temporal profile of general solutions. It is hopeful that the analysis will be used to help the design of efficient numerical schemes for a class of nonlinear evolution equations.
