Inverse Transport and Diffusion Problems in Optical Tomography

Abstract:  Optical tomography is a medical imaging tool used to assess the scattering and absorbing properties of human tissues probed by near-infra-red photons. Mathematically, optical tomography reduces to inverse problems for the radiative transport equation. We present in this talk some recent results on such an inverse transport problem and inverse diffusion problems closely related to it.
