Matrix Valued Polynomials, Differential Equations and Applications

Abstract:  The theory of matrix valued polynomials starts with M.G. Krein in 1949. There has been some recent efforts to produce concrete examples of this theory in particular looking at situations where the matrix valued polynomial P_n are common eigenfunctions of some fixed differential operator (with n independent matrix valued eignvalues). I will review some of these new results and talk about a few possible applications.
