Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Tenure-Track Position

The Mathematics and Computer Science Department of Stetson University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics to begin in the fall of 2008. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field. The teaching load is three courses per semester. The ideal candidate should exhibit an enthusiasm and talent for teaching at all undergraduate levels, support high standards for student performance, help sponsor undergraduate research, and contribute to the intellectual life of the University.
Stetson University is a selective, highly-ranked, private university enrolling 2440 undergraduate students. Stetson's DeLand campus is located in Central Florida between Daytona Beach and Orlando. The Mathematics department has a variety of research and instructional resources, including computer laboratories, subscriptions to professional journals, and memberships in professional societies. Support for faculty professional development is available through department travel funds and university grants. The department has recently received an NSF grant for scholarships to encourage students from traditionally under-represented groups to study Mathematics and Computer Science. The department also hosts active MAA and ACM student chapters, a colloquium series, and several annual social events for faculty and students.
