ATTENDANCE POLICY Attendance will be monitored randomly. If THE RECORD shows that you have attended 90% of classes, you will get a bonus of 3% of the final grade. This is to encourage attendance, which is often positively correlated with good performance.

HOMEWORK For each chapter you will be given a list of problems to solve. Homework problems from thetextbook will not be graded, however, homework problems will constitute a considerable part of your tests. You will also be assigned CAPA homeworks on the internet. Thesehomeworks will be graded automatically by the computer. The two lowest scores for these homeworks will be dropped.

TESTS Three midterms (approximately, September 13, October 11, November 8) are 100 points each.

GRADING POLICY There will also be a group project worth 100 points. The final exam (the exact date to be announced) is 200 points.

NC POLICY If you attend 80% or more of the lectures, take all tests, and have a final average of at least 50% then No Credit (NC grade) will be awarded in place of an F.

OTHER INFORMATION In addition to my office hours, the Math Lab is a wonderful help/tutorial facilityfor this course and I strongly recommend you to make use of it. The Math Lab is located on the first floor (the basement) of the Math \& Physics building.It is open 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. MTWR, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. F, 3 p.m. - 10 p.m. Sunday.Phone - 823-3489, e-mail - mathlab@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu,website - http://pegasus.cc.ucf.edu/$\sim$mathlab.It is a wonderful source of help outside class hours, and is really worth utilizing.
