ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance will be taken daily. You may have no more than five absences to qualify for the "NC" grade.

HOMEWORK
Homework will be given daily, and you will periodically turn in specified assignments. Late work will not be accepted. You will also have 5 announced quizzes over the semester. The lowest of the quiz scores will be dropped.

TESTS
There will be 4 fifty minute tests and a comprehensive final exam. If your final exam score is higher than your lowest test score, your final exam grade will replace your lowest test score.

GRADING POLICY
Test average: 60%; Final Exam: 20%;Quizzes and Assignments: 20%

NC POLICY
To earn the grade of NC you must meet the following criteria: (1) Regular attendance (5 or fewer absences); (2) Student must have taken all tests and quizzes; (3) Course average must be at least 50%

Test 1: Friday, September 13; Test 2: Wednesday, October 2; Test 3: Friday, October 18; Test 4: Friday, November 4;Final Exam: Wednesday, December 4, 13:00-15:50; Withdrawal Deadline: Friday, October 11

OTHER INFORMATION
You may use a graphing calculator such as the TI-83 on tests and quizzes (unless otherwise specified), but not a graphing calculator with a CAS (computer algebra system) such as the TI-89 or TI-92. If you’re not sure whether your calculator is acceptable, please ask. Students are also prohibited from using a calculator on a cellular phone, PDA, etc. Using a calculator with a CAS or a calculator on a cellular phone, PDA, etc. on a test or quiz will result in a grade of zero.
