ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance will be checked at each class meeting. You will earn 3% extra credit on your test average if you have no more than 6 unexcused absences. Excused absences must be approved by your instructor no later than 7 days after the absence.

HOMEWORK
Suggested homework exercises are listed on the departmental trigonometry syllabus. They will not be graded; however, students are encouraged to do these exercises in order to increase the likelihood of success in the class. You will also be assigned CAPA homework which must be done on the internet and will be graded for credit.

TESTS
There will be four progress tests and a final exam.

GRADING POLICY
Tests: 400 points
Final Exam: 200 points
Quizes/Class activity: 100 points
CAPA homework: 100 points
Total (100%): 800 points
Extra credit for attendance: 25 points (3%)

88 - 90% A-
86 - 88% B+
80 - 86% B
78 - 80% B-
76 - 78% C+
70 - 76% C
68 - 70% C-
0 - 68% F

NC POLICY
If you attend 80% or more of the lectures, take all tests, and have a final average of at least 50% then No Credit (NC grade) will be awarded in place of an F.

OTHER INFORMATION
CAPA homework should be done via the internet. There are twelve sets to be done and the due dates are printed at the top of each assignment. Material on each CAPA set may not have been covered in class at the time you receive your set, but will be covered during the time the set is open.
There are two CAPA help sessions available. Either Tuesdays at 1:00 in MAP 233 or Wednesdays at 10:00 in MAP 233.
Also, In addition to my office hours, I strongly recommend you to make use of the Math Lab. The Math Lab is located on the first floor (the basement) of the MAP building. It is a good source of help outside class hours, and is really worth utilizing.
