TEXTBOOK Calculus, Fourth Edition by James Stewart, Brooks Cole, 1999 TESTS Testing: Homework will be assigned as the course proceeds. It will be collected and graded. The homework grades will be curved and the scaled score will be worth a total of 20 points. There will be 4 fifty-minute tests and a comprehensive final exam. Each test will be worth 50 points and the final exam will be worth 100 points. The lowest grade will be dropped unless the lowest grade is made on the final exam. If the lowest grade is made on the final, the final will count as 50 points in your total score instead of 100. There will be no makeup tests! The final exam must be taken. If any other exam is not taken, it will be the one that is dropped. Dates for the exams are Friday, September 12; Monday, October 6; Wednesday, October 29; and Friday, November 21. The final exam will be on Tuesday, December 9, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:50 P.M. The room for the final will be announced later in the term. A grade of NC (No Credit) will be awarded to any student who completes the course requirements but does not earn enough points for an A, B, or C. The topics covered include limits, derivatives and applications of derivatives, parametric equations, and vector algebra.
