ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance in the class is very important and will be checked. You will 3% extra credit on your Test average if you have no more than 2 unexcused absences. Excused absences may be approved by the instructor no later than seven days after the absence.

HOMEWORK
The course is divided into twelve modules. As each module is discused, you should be working on the Exercises to be given in a separate handout. They will not be collected, but there will be periodic quizzes. Also, you will be assigned homework to be done on the internet (CAPA), which will be graded and will make up 10 % of your course grade. These assignments have a deadline, which must be observed. Deatails will be mentioned in the class.

TESTS
In addition to quizzes which will be given on announced days, there will be Four tests and a Final examination. All examinations are held during the class period and are closedbook tests. No make up tests will be given. If one misses an examination for a valid reason to be determined by the instructor, then the Final examination will be used to assign a score for the missing test.Test 1: January 31, 2001; Test 2: February 21, 2001;Test 3: March 21, 2001;Test 4: April 16, 2001. Final Examination: Date to be announced

GRADING POLICY
Final grade of this course is based on Homework, Quizzes, Tests and the Final Examination. The breakdown for grades will be as follows:Homework:10%; Quizzes:10%; Tests: 3x20%

80 - 89% B
70 - 79% C
0 - 69% F

NC POLICY
If you attend 80% 0r more of the lectures, take all tests, and have a final average of at least 50% then No Credit (NC grade) will be awarded in place of an F.
