ATTENDANCE POLICY Attendance will be taken at each class meeting.
HOMEWORK Homework will be assigned for each section in the text that will be covered. Periodically, I will collect some of these problems to grade. Thus, I highly recommend completing the assigned problems
TESTS Tests will, roughly, occur at the conclusion of each chapter and will cover material discussed since the previous test. Makeups will be given only when the absence occurs due to religious observances, medical reasons, family emergencies, or official University functions and when accompanied by appropriate documentation. Makeups will be given only on Tuesday, April 24 from 1600-1850.
GRADING POLICY Five chapter tests (with the lowest grade dropped) will count for 60% of the course grade. A mandatory Comprehensive Final Exam will count 25% of the course grade. The remaining 15% of the course grade will be based on collected Homework problems, unannounced Quizzes, and 1 or 2 Projects.
| GRADING SCALE | | Average | Grade | | 90 - 100%
| A | | 80 - 89%
| B | | 70 - 79%
| C | | 0 - 69%
| F | |
NC POLICY If you attend 80% or more of the lectures, take all tests, and have a final average of at least 50%, then No Credit (NC Grade) will be awarded in place of an F.

OTHER INFORMATION All students are required to have a scientific calculator. While graphing and programmable calculators are allowed for homework and quizzes (unless otherwise announced), graphing calculators will not be allowed for tests. Using a graphing calculator on an exam will result in an automatic grade of ZERO (which will not be dropped)! Each student is expected to behave appropriately during class. Any student caught cheating on an exam will receive a grade of ZERO (which will not be dropped)! Disclaimer: Changes to this syllabus may be made at any time by announcement of the instructor.
