ATTENDANCE POLICY
The student is expected to attend class at each meeting. If class is missed for any reason, it is the responsibility of the student to obtain information missed.

HOMEWORK
Homework will be assigned at each class meeting. The student is expected to have attempted all problems from the previous night's assignment. The instructor may choose to collect homework to count for a quiz without prior notification.

TESTS
There will be 4 tests and a comprehensive final exam. The dates of the exams will be announced in class. No make-up exams will be given. The lowest exam grade may be replaced by the final exam grade if the final exam grade is higher. There will be unannounced quizzes given in class during the semester. There will be no make-up quizzes.

GRADING POLICY
The 4 chapter tests are worth 65% of the final grade. The final exam is worth 25% of the final grade. Quizzes are worth 10% of the final grade.

OTHER INFORMATION
Students will need a calculator for this class. However, calculators capable of symbolic manipulation (e.g., the TI-89 or TI-92) will not be permitted on the exams. The instructor reserves the right to ammend the syllabus at any time in writing.
