ATTENDANCE POLICY Please inform the instructor in advance if you plan to miss a class, if you need to leave early or if you are expecting to be late. Attendance will be checked randomly. At the discretion of the instructor, attendance could affect a "borderline" grade.

TESTS Tests are comprehensive. There are no make-up tests. In the case of a legitimate excuse (to be determined by the instructor) score for the missed test will be substituted by the score of the final. Graded tests are to be retained until the end of the course. Quizzes are mainly based on the home assignment problems and will be given at the instructor's discretion. There will be 3 tests, 50 minutes long. The tentative schedule is: Test 1 - Jan. 31 Test 2 - Feb 26 Test 3 - Mar. 28

GRADING POLICY You can earn up to 600 points. Exams are 100 pts. each, the final is 200 pts. and the remaining 100 pts. come from quizzes. 25% of your quizzes with the lowest scores will be dropped. 540 - 600 A 480 - 539 B 420 - 479 C 360 - 419 D below 360 F
