ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance will be taken daily.

HOMEWORK
You are given assignments from the textbook for each section of material. It is very important that you do homework regularly. You should spend at least two hours doing homework outside of class for every hour you spend in class.

TESTS
There will be 4 fifty minute tests and a comprehensive final exam. If your final exam score is higher than your lowest test score, your final exam grade will replace your lowest test score. Also, 5 quizzes will be given with the lowest quiz grade dropped.

GRADING POLICY
Test average: 60%; Final Exam: 20%; Quizzes: 20%

OTHER INFORMATION
Calculators: You may use a graphing calculator such as the TI-83 on tests and quizzes, but not a graphing calculator with a CAS (computer algebra system) such as the TI-92 or the TI-89. Furthermore, you may not use a calculator on a cell phone, PDA, etc. If you’re not sure whether your calculator is acceptable, please ask. Using an inappropriate calculator will result in a grade of zero on the test or quiz and possible disciplinary action. Note: Information in this syllabus is subject to change. Any changes will be clearly announced in class.
