There are NO quiz or test make ups except in the event of an excused absence (death in the family, medical problems, official UCF functions, etc.). Excused absences must be supported in writing and approved by me no later than 7 days after the absence. HOMEWORK You should complete the homework at the end of each lesson prior to the quiz. There will be quizzes once a week based on the week’s lessons. Quizzes will be 5 questions long with no partial credit. These quizzes will be 10% of your final grade. TESTS There will be five exams worth 100 points each, and a comprehensive final exam worth 200 points. The use of graphing calculators is not permitted. GRADING POLICY Your final course grade will be determined by taking the top four scores from your exams, plus the final exam and the quizzes. GRADING SCALE Average Grade 90 - 100% A 80 - 89% B 70 - 79% C 60 - 69% D 0 - 59% F IMPORTANT DATES Exam 1 – 1/24/03 Exam 2 – 2/12/03 Exam 3 – 3/3/03 Exam 4 – 3/28/03 Exam 5 – 4/16/03 Final Exam – 4/25/03 at 7:00 AM OTHER INFORMATION In addition to my office hours, the Math Lab is available free of charge to all students enrolled in this course. The Math Lab is located in MAP 113 and is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 8 PM, on Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and on Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM.
