ATTENDANCE POLICY Attendance will be taken every day. If a student misses class, they should contact the instructor as soon as possible. It is the student's responsibility to find out what material and assignments were missed due to an absence.
|
HOMEWORK Homework will be assigned at each class meeting. The student is expected to attempt every problem before coming to class.
|
TESTS There will be four in-class tests during the semester and a mandatory, cumulative final exam. There will be no make-up exams or quizzes during the semester unless the absence is excused by university policy (ie. religious holidays or university sponsored events requiring a student's attendance). The instructor will ask for documentation to determine whether an absence is excused. If an exam is missed for a legitimate reason (to be determined by the instructor), then the final will be counted twice, as the missed test and the final exam.
|
GRADING POLICY The four in-class tests will be 60% of the final grade. Quizzes and homework will be 15% of the final grade. Final Examination will be 25% of the final grade. Plus/minus grades will NOT be awarded.
|
GRADING SCALE |
| Average | Grade | | 90 - 100%
| A | | 80 - 89%
| B | | 70 - 79%
| C | | 0 - 69%
| F | |
NC POLICY If you attend 80% or more of the lectures, take all tests, and have a final average of at least 50% then No Credit (NC grade) may be be awarded in place of an F.
