ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance will be monitored randomly. If the record shows that you have attended 90% of monitored classes, you will get a bonus of 3% of the final grade. This is to encourage attendance, which is often positively correlated with good performance.

HOMEWORK
For each Chapter you will be given a list of problems to solve. These problems will constitute considerable part of your quizzes and tests. Time for asking questions will be given during the lectures, and also you are very welcome to my office hours.

GRADING POLICY
Quizzes will be held approximately once a week, the exact day to be announced in advance. Each quiz is 20 points. Three midterms (approximately, January 30, February 20, March 19) are 100 points each. The semi-comprehensive final exam (April 21, 10:00--12:50 p.m.) is 200 points. The lowest quiz score and midterm scorewill be dropped. Also, each student will be doing a project worth 100 points. Your final grade will be determined by your score.
