ATTENDANCE POLICY Attendance will be taken daily. In order to qualify for the NC grade, you must have 6 or fewer absences (among other criteria).

HOMEWORK Homework will be assigned from each section of material that we cover. It is very important that you do homework regularly. You should spend at least two hours doing homework outside of class for every hour you spend in class.

TESTS There will be 4 fifty minute tests and a comprehensive final exam. If your final exam score is higher than your lowest test score, your final exam score will replace your lowest test score.

GRADING POLICY Test Average: 65%; Final Exam: 25%; Quizzes: 10%

NC POLICY To earn the grade of NC in place of an F you must meet the following criteria: (1) Regular attendace (6 or fewer absences); (2) Student must have taken all tests: (3) Course average must be at least 50%

IMPORTANT DATES Test 1: Monday, January 26; Test 2: Thursday, February 19; Test 3: Friday, March 19; Test 4: Thursday, April 8; Final Exam: Monday, April 26 from 10:00-12:50; Withdrawal Deadline: Friday, February 27

OTHER INFORMATION You may use a graphing calculator such as the TI-83 on tests and quizzes, but not a graphing calculator with a CAS (computer algebra system) such as the TI-92 or the TI-89. Furthermore, you may not use a calculator on a cell phone, PDA, etc. If you’re not sure whether your calculator is acceptable, please ask. Using an inappropriate calculator will result in a grade of zero on the test or quiz and possible disciplinary action.
