ATTENDANCE POLICY
It is strongly recommended that you attend all lectures. Attendance for exams is mandatory. There will be no make-up exams or quizzes. • Excused absences for exams and quizzes will not hurt your overall grade. • Example: death in the family, medical problems, official UCF functions, etc. • Travel conflicts is not an excusable absence. • Notify your instructor no later than 24 hours after the absence. • Excused absences must be supported in writing within 1 week.

HOMEWORK
A short quiz or homework assignment will be given during no more than ten of the lectures. They will be of a similar standard to the homework questions at the end of each section in the book. Quizzes/homework will contribute to 10% of your final grade.

TESTS
There will be five midterm tests during the semester (worth 100 points each) and a comprehensive final exam (worth 100 points). The lowest test grade will be dropped. The final exam will NOT be dropped. Graphing calculators, cell phones, and PDA’s cannot be used.

GRADING POLICY
The course grade is determined by taking the top four scores from the five midterm exams, plus the final exam and the quizzes/homework. Final grade assignment follows the standard scale:
